  • Details:  This charming set of mid-century Christmas ornaments features two anthropomorphic Pixie Mice with very large ears, rubber faces and long, striped fabric legs.  Their arms are posable, however the legs are very stiff, both retain their cords for hanging.  These were imported from Japan, they remind us of the Italian cartoon character Topo Gigio, very popular in the 60's, (see below). Perfect for collectors or anyone looking for vintage period ornaments to add nostalgic character to their holiday décor.  We offer 20% off on the purchase of any 3 or more ornaments, mix and match. Topo Gigio is an Italian puppet created in 1958 by artist Maria Perego, her husband Federico Caldura and fellow artist Guido Stagnaro.  He's an anthropomorphic mouse, and became popular in the United States in 1963 when he appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show.  Topo Gigio has made movies, is featured in cartoons and TV series.  He has become popular in many countries around the world.
