There are pieces of mid-century costume jewelry that were made quickly and pieces that were made with the intention of outlasting everything around them. This Juliana parure is the latter. The waterfall bib necklace layers aurora borealis crystals, claw-set clear rhinestones, pear-shaped rhinestones, and scattered faux pearls across a cascading, multi-strand construction that moves with the wearer. The clip earrings mirror the necklace exactly — same stones, same light, same otherworldly iridescence. J-hook closure on the necklace.
DeLizza & Elster — known to collectors simply as "Juliana" — operated out of New York from the 1940s through the 1970s, producing unsigned pieces of remarkable quality that were sold through department stores and boutiques. Unmarked by design; identified by construction and confirmed by the collectors who document them. This parure has been verified against trusted Juliana reference sources that catalog authenticated pieces — the five-link connector, the prong-setting quality, the specific stones all align. This set is the real thing.
Juliana parures are increasingly difficult to find intact, and a waterfall bib in this condition is genuinely rare. This will ship insured and signature required. A once-in-a-while acquisition for a serious collector, or the finest gift you've ever given.
