A rotating bisque porcelain musical figurine of two angels watching over the Baby Jesus, in pale blue and beige, made for Gorham in Japan and playing "Silent Night."
- Maker: Gorham (music box by Sankyo)
- Materials: Bisque porcelain
- Dimensions: 8.75 inches Tall, approx. 5.0 inches Wide
- Origin: Japan
- Era: Vintage, 1960s–1970s
- Condition: Very Good — it plays slowly, and we are not sure if that was the intention, but it sounds good. There is a little bit of residual glue visible on one wing of the smaller angel; it could be that the wings were hand applied, and there is no crack or separation visible from the other side. Photographed for your review. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.
Such a sweet musical figurine, perfect to celebrate Christmas and the birth of Jesus. It has two angels looking over the Baby Jesus, and the detail is absolutely wonderful: hand painted perfect faces, and all the little fingers in place. The music box is made by Sankyo with a plastic disk to wind it on the bottom, and it plays "Silent Night," a little slow but very clear. It is a rotating music figurine that moves around as it plays. These were continued to be made through the 1970s and 1980s, but made in Korea.
A great gift for a music box collector, and perfect decor for Christmas.
