These ceramic Christmas mugs, marked "Miyazaki Create" on the side and "Sanyei, Made in China" on the base, are from Sanyei's Miyazaki Create Christmas Village collection, dated 1993. A snow-dusted row of houses on one mug, a family walking home from Christmas shopping on the other.

It's a great addition to a holiday mug collection, and a lovely gift for any Miyazaki or Studio Ghibli fan.
This collection was designed by the legendary Japanese illustrator and animator Miyazaki Hayao — the mind behind Studio Ghibli, founded with Isao Takahata before Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke made him a household name in 1997. Sanyei itself dates back to 1961, when three companies merged to form what became Sanyei Corporation in 1971. This set includes one mug showing a row of Christmas-decorated houses, and a second showing a family returning home with holiday gifts.
