Bright red cherries on Glasbake — the companion to the apple mug, and the one made for spring and summer.
Same maker, same era, same embossed base mark ("Heat-Resistant, Glasbake, 17"), same satisfying weight in hand — but cherries instead of apples, which makes this the warm-weather companion to the apple mug. McKee's Glasbake line ran from 1917 through several ownership changes, and the fruit motif mugs are among the most collected pieces from the range. Tiny wear on the cherries is noted and zoomed in for your review; the interior is very clean. Hand wash to preserve the design.
A lovely spring or summer kitchen piece, a gift for a Glasbake or McKee collector, or a small, affordable bit of American glass history.
