In 1976, McDonald's gave these away with coffee and breakfast. Half a century later, they're a find.
Anchor Hocking made this tempered glass mug for their Fire King brand as a McDonald's promotional giveaway in 1976 — free with the purchase of coffee and a breakfast item. The cheerful sunshine graphic reads "Good Morning" above the iconic Golden Arches, and the stacking lip on the base means these were designed for a busy counter. Made in the USA from soda-lime-silicate glass. There is one small spot — either a manufacturing flaw or a paint dot — photographed; otherwise in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or other issues.
A genuine piece of fast food history and American advertising culture. A fun gift for a McDonald's collector, a Fire King enthusiast, or anyone who remembers when breakfast came with a free mug.
