This ceramic beer mug, made in Japan in the 1960s, embosses a blonde lady in a pink gown playing guitar for a heavily mustached listener, with log cabins and a mountain castle on the reverse. Hand-painted in the same warm, muted Bavarian palette as its companion piece.

The embossed relief captures fine detail in the lady's gown and the gentleman's mustache, with the same substantial, solid weight in hand as its companion piece.

It's a natural companion to our Bearded Men mug, and both display beautifully together as a matched grouping for the German beer culture collector.

The lady's pink gown, the gentleman's dramatic mustache, and the pine forest and distant castle are all rendered in the same warm, muted palette found across this style of mid-century German-inspired stein. Pieces like this were made in Japan for the American gift market, letting collectors bring a bit of Bavarian tavern charm home without ever leaving the country.

Pair it with our Bearded Men mug for a complete set, or browse our shop for more German-style barware.
