A jar shaped like the Liberty Bell — because in 1975, America was getting ready to turn 200, and even the olive jar wanted to celebrate.

This clear glass jar was made by the Owens-Illinois Glass Company in 1975, molded in the shape of the Liberty Bell and originally filled with Spanish olives by the Liberty Cherry & Fruit Co. The embossed "Liberty 1776–1976" marking on the glass places it squarely in the Bicentennial era — one of the most collectible periods in American history, when manufacturers across every industry found creative ways to honor the nation's 200th anniversary.

The Owens-Illinois mark and plant code "20" — believed to indicate their Brackenridge, PA facility — make this a documented, dateable piece of American glass history. Empty, with its original metal lid.

A charming display piece for a 4th of July vignette, a kitchen shelf, or a Bicentennial collection. And with America's 250th anniversary arriving in 2026, the timing couldn't be better.
