A half-open door, a garden beyond it, silver foil borders, and a real blue fabric ribbon in the corner.
In the 1940s and 50s, greeting card makers put genuine craft into their cards — textured paper, metallic foil borders, actual fabric trim. This belated birthday card is a lovely example: a colorful garden glimpsed through a half-open door, framed in textured silver foil, with a real blue fabric ribbon accent at one corner and a pink floral border all around. The paper itself has an unusual vertical stripe texture that photographs can't quite capture. Unbranded, blank inside, never used, no envelope. Ten available, all in similar condition.
A quiet, beautiful piece for a vintage card collector, a paper ephemera enthusiast, or anyone who appreciates the craft that once went into something as everyday as a birthday card.
