Part glass, part mug, entirely its own thing. This set of four Tia Maria glass mugs is one of those pieces that makes a home bar feel like it has a story.
These were a gift-with-purchase from Tia Maria liqueur in the 1980s — tapered glasses that narrow toward the bottom, with handles, weighted bottoms, and a rounded foot for stability. The wordmark "Tia Maria" is written in cursive brown enamel on each glass, in perfect condition. Made by Libbey (marked on the bottom). No chips, cracks, or scratches. A set of four, ready to use.
Tia Maria is a dark coffee liqueur made in Italy using 100% Arabica coffee beans, Bourbon vanilla, and Jamaican rum. The origin story is worthy of the glasses it inspired: in 1946, Morris Cargill connected with Dr. Ken Evans to develop a coffee liqueur recipe similar to one his aunt used to make — he could never quite get her exact recipe, so he named it after her. "Tia" is Spanish for aunt. Tia Maria. The brand has since been produced in Saronno, Italy and distributed in over 60 countries.
Perfect for hot or cold coffee cocktails — Espresso Martinis, White Russians, Irish-style coffees, or simply poured over ice. A conversation piece and a functional bar set in one.
