The pattern is listed on the Replacements website as CUV71, while Culver reference books call it "Victorian Christmas Scene" or "Victorian Christmas Cottages." Frosted glass cottages line the streets, and the scene is full of people enjoying the holiday: carolers, someone bringing home a Christmas tree, and a mother with her children, all outlined in 22K gold. The Culver mark is in block print lettering with a copyright symbol. A great size for a Double Old Fashioned, a whiskey double or whiskey on the rocks.
A stunning addition to a holiday bar or bar cart, and a great find for Culver collectors, since these don't come up for sale often.
Culver Glassware was founded in 1939 by Irving Rothenberg in Brooklyn, New York, and moved to Rahway, New Jersey, in 1980. After Irving passed away in 1986, his son Mark Rothenberg ran the company, and he sold it to Moderne Glass Company in 1996. Today Moderne Glass Co. continues to produce new Culver glassware as well as reproductions of old patterns.
