America's 200th birthday — commemorated on a peanut butter glass.

In 1976, the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P) issued a series of Bicentennial Celebration glasses as part of a promotion with their Ann Page Creamy Smooth Peanut Butter. This is the Minutemen glass — featuring red and mustard-yellow enamel illustrations with a bold "1776" banner at the top. The kind of promotional collectible that was meant to be used and discarded, which is exactly why survivors in excellent condition like this one are worth finding.

Surprisingly well-made for a grocery store promotion — a nicely weighted bottom, clean enamel, and 50 years later still looking sharp. Perfect for a 4th of July bar display, holding swizzle sticks or bar picks, or as part of a Bicentennial collection. With America's 250th anniversary arriving in 2026, the 200th is getting a second look from collectors.
