Twelve drummers drumming — the finale of the song, captured in a glass that's been quietly collectible since the 1970s.

This tumbler belongs to Anchor Hocking's 12 Days of Christmas collection, each glass illustrating one verse of the beloved carol with the corresponding lyrics printed on the back. Based on our own research, the artwork was originally designed by Taylor, Smith & Taylor (TS&T); when Anchor Hocking acquired TS&T in 1970, they carried the same imagery forward into their own glass line — a small but telling piece of mid-century tableware history. (Anchor Hocking later released a second 12 Days of Christmas series in the same shape but with different colors and images, so if you're building a set, it's worth double-checking that this coloring matches what you already have.) The song itself has its own history: believed to have started as a French poem, it took its now-familiar melody from an 1909 arrangement of a traditional folk tune by English composer Frederic Austin.

A nostalgic find for anyone completing their set, or a fun stand-alone piece of holiday drinkware for the mantle or table. We carry other days from this same series — browse our shop to see which ones are currently available, or check out our other vintage barware.
