Pink and white, Victorian ladies and gentlemen mid-dance, New York candy royalty, 1959.
Barton's Bonbonniere was founded in 1938 by Stephen Klein and his five Viennese brothers, candy makers by heritage, who built one of New York's best-loved confectionery brands. This square tin — originally sold with Barton's Filled Fruits — is dated 1959 and features charming pink and white Victorian dancing figures all around. It's a piece of mid-century New York candy culture, and a visually delightful one. Honest about its condition: the top rim is misshapen, there are dents making it very hard to open, scratches, scuffs, and some paint loss — all photographed. Aluminum oxide on the inside. Valued for display and collection rather than use.
A meaningful piece for the Barton's collector, the candy tin enthusiast, or the New York nostalgia lover. We also carry the companion Almond Kisses tin.
