Ruth Morehead trained at Seattle's Cornish Art School before working her way up from glitter application to art director at a major greeting card company. In 1975, she launched her own company, Morehead Inc., eventually licensing a line of over 3,000 illustrated characters worldwide. She passed away in 2004, and her whimsical designs remain highly collectible today.
