Deep red crackle finish, roses on three sides, golden swirls at the borders, a round knob finial — West Germany, and gorgeous.

  • Materials: Metal tin
  • Dimensions: 4.5" diameter, 6.0" tall (not including finial)
  • Origin: West Germany
  • Era: Vintage, 1950s
  • Condition: Vintage, used — very good; light wear on lid border; small paint chip near seam (photographed); no dents. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.

This cylindrical biscuit tin is a standout — the red crackle finish gives it a texture and depth unusual for tins of this era, and the decoration is generous: roses on three panels, elaborate golden swirl and flower borders at top and bottom, and a pretty round knob finial on the lid. Embossed on the bottom: "Container Made in Western Germany."

A beautiful display piece for the German tin collector or anyone who wants a warm, richly colored accent in their home. Lovely filled with dried flowers, rolling storage, or simply on its own.

The "Made in Western Germany" stamp dates this piece to sometime between the end of WWII and German reunification in 1990, a window that narrows its likely production to the postwar decades.
