Two alternating panels — a bird on a branch, a butterfly among flowers — a substantial Daher biscuit tin.

  • Maker: Daher
  • Materials: Metal tin
  • Dimensions: 5.0" diameter, 5.75" tall (including lid and finial)
  • Origin: England
  • Era: Vintage, 1940s
  • Condition: Vintage, used — very good; one interior dent (not visible outside, photographed); minor scratches and rust spots; display only, not for food. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.

This cylinder carries two alternating chinoiserie panels in blue, orange, and yellow: one featuring a bird perched on a flowering branch, the other with flowers and a butterfly. The round finial lid lifts off cleanly. Stamped on the bottom: "Designed by Daher, Long Island NY, Made in England."

A handsome display piece for the English tin collector or a chinoiserie vignette. Practical too — the right diameter to conceal a standard roll of bathroom tissue in a powder room.

Daher Limited of England produced some of the mid-century's most recognizable decorative tinware, designed in Long Island, NY and manufactured in England for export back to the American market.

Also available in the matching octagonal shape — browse our shop for more Daher and English chinoiserie tins.
