This one is a lovely example of the brand's style: a sweet bunny rabbit nestled among heart-shaped flowers, rendered in fine-detail pewter and applied to a flat metal candy tin lid. The tin itself is unmarked, as was typical for Metzke, but the style is unmistakable to collectors.

Designs by Metzke was founded in 1963 by Dr. Fred Metzke and his wife Mary — an artist and his equally creative partner — who grew their Tallahassee company into one of the largest pewter giftware manufacturers in the world before closing in 1997.
