The girl wears a wide-brimmed hat with a feather, golden shoes, a gown with tiny raised gold dots; the boy wears a matching violet feather, gold shoes, the same delicate dots on his trousers. Their faces are sweet and precisely painted, every finger intact. The "arrow and G" mark with "IG DEP 8357" places these between 1879 — when the mark was officially registered with the Ducal District Court — and 1886, when a crown was added. The model number 8357 is incised on the back of both pieces, confirming they are a true pair.
