The W.S. Badcock Corp. was founded by Henry Stanhope Badcock in Mulberry, Florida in 1904. His son Wogan Stanhope Badcock, Jr. took over in 1920 and navigated the company through the Great Depression by deploying "route salesmen" in small trucks along designated routes and offering credit to customers who couldn't pay in full — the two decisions that kept Badcock alive. Today the company operates in 8 states across the Southeast and continues to offer credit to its customers.
