This vintage 1940s–1950s demitasse cup and saucer (TIR301) is Tirschenreuth Bavarian porcelain, made in Germany. Gold-encrusted dots and hand-painted florals on a scalloped edge — Bavarian porcelain at its most jewel-like.

  • Maker: Tirschenreuth Porcelain Factory (est. 1838, closed 1995)
  • Materials: Porcelain, gold encrusting
  • Dimensions: Standard demitasse size, 2–3 oz
  • Origin: Bavaria, Germany
  • Era: 1940s–1950s
  • Condition: Vintage — used, excellent condition. No chips, cracks, or scratches. Please review all photos; all sales final.

It's a single cup and saucer that commands a presence far beyond its size — a lovely gift for a Bavarian porcelain collector.

Tirschenreuth has been producing fine porcelain in Bavaria since 1838, becoming one of Germany's most respected china houses before closing in 1995. The gold encrusting on this piece is applied in raised dots alongside tiny hand-painted floral motifs, a technique that catches light much the way fine jewelry does. It's catalogued on Replacements Ltd. as pattern TIR301, useful for collectors looking to match or complete a set.
