A beautiful hostess gift, especially paired with a fine espresso.
Pattern #3196 mirrors the Lefton #20595 exactly; both companies were importers who appear to have sourced from the same Japanese maker, a common practice among mid-century import houses selling to the American gift market. Tilso itself was founded in 1913 and named for the founders' daughters, Tillie and Sonia, operating until 1976 — labeled pieces like this one, with original foil intact, are now increasingly hard to find.
