One of the most enduring patterns in American glass history — and one of the most elegant decanters Anchor Hocking ever produced. The Wexford pattern, introduced in the 1960s, is instantly recognizable: rows of small diamonds on the upper band separated from larger diamonds below, creating a crisscross effect that catches the light from every angle. This hexagonal version — six-sided, with a bulbous center that narrows gracefully toward both neck and base — is the most sophisticated shape in the Wexford lineup.
The stopper carries the same Wexford diamond pattern, making the whole piece feel complete and intentional in a way that lesser decanters never quite manage. Clear glass, which remains the most popular of all the Wexford colorways — it was also produced in blue, ruby red, gold-banded, and smoked — and the most sought after by collectors. At 14.5 inches tall with the stopper, it commands attention on any bar cart or shelf.
Note: the plastic insert on the stopper has a tear — it does not affect the look or function of the stopper and the glass itself is perfect.
We carry several pieces in the Wexford pattern — search "Wexford" in our shop to build out your collection.
A classic, versatile gift for the dad who appreciates American glass, Mid-Century design, or simply a decanter that looks equally at home with bourbon, scotch, or a good red wine.
Anchor Hocking traces its origins to 1905 when Isaac J. Collins and six partners purchased the Lancaster Carbon Company in Lancaster, Ohio for $8,000. Surviving a catastrophic fire in 1924, the Great Depression, and multiple corporate mergers over the following century, Anchor Hocking became one of America's most beloved and enduring glassware manufacturers. The Wexford pattern, introduced in the 1960s, remains one of their most collected designs.
