One side carries the city's centennial slogan, "Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow," in elegant script; the other features a detailed map of North Carolina set within a large gold ring. Reidsville was founded in 1873 in Rockingham County, in the heart of North Carolina's historic tobacco belt, named after local landowner Reuben Reid, and grew into a prosperous manufacturing and agricultural community over its first century.
