Blue-green grapevine leaves, clusters of purple grapes, and a platinum rim — a pattern that works at a formal dinner table, a farmhouse breakfast, and everything in between.

Pattern 6701 from Fine China of Japan carries a layered provenance: it was produced as an exclusive for Max Schoenfeld, a Los Angeles-based distributor who secured certain patterns solely for his California market, adding his "MS" initials to each backstamp. That exclusivity makes pieces in this pattern relatively rare today. The grapevine design is versatile in a way few mid-century patterns achieve — the cool blue-green leaves and warm purple grape clusters work across seasons and settings, mixing easily with other china in blue, green, or purple. Dated 1949–1955. Matching serving pieces and place settings are also available in the shop. Note: there is minor wear on the creamer decal, photographed for review; the platinum rim is in excellent condition.

A lovely find for anyone collecting this pattern, or a versatile addition to a gathered table service. A thoughtful gift for the Japan china collector or anyone who appreciates a piece with a backstory behind the backstamp.
