George Lefton, known as The China King, never manufactured his own pieces — he curated them, holding his Japanese makers to exacting standards that collectors still seek out today.

  • Origin: Japan
  • Era: Vintage, 1949–1955
  • Dimensions: Sugar (with lid) 3¾" tall × 5" wide (handle to handle) × 2" opening; Creamer 3¾" tall × 4" wide (spout to handle) × 2" opening
  • Condition: Very good vintage condition — no chips or scratches; minor wear on sugar gold rim (photographed). Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.

This early Wheat pattern set is among the most ornate of the three Wheat variations Lefton produced. The sugar bowl's swirled body, ruffled collar, and gold-accented handles are a study in restrained elegance; the creamer mirrors the motif with matching wheat stalks and swirled form. Stamped “Lefton China, Hand Painted, Reg. U.S. Pat. Off.”

A beautiful hostess or bridal shower gift, sized for a special-occasion breakfast table.

Lefton's Wheat pattern came in several variations over the years, and this earliest version — dated by its backstamp — represents the most detailed of the group.

A lovely find for the Lefton collector. We also carry pattern #20595 — browse our shop to compare. Hand wash recommended.
