What makes this piece especially interesting is the backstamp: "Crooksville China Co, 1134 American Made" alongside "Compliments of P.G. Edmundson & Son of Pulaski, Tenn" — a promotional gift distributed to loyal customers of a Tennessee business in the 1930s. Crooksville China Company was founded in 1902 in Crooksville, Ohio, producing semi-porcelain dinnerware and kitchenware until competition from lower-priced imports forced them to close in 1959. Advertising pottery of this age and quality is its own collecting category.
