The covered companion to the open serving bowl — and the crown jewel of any Desert Rose collection. This round covered vegetable bowl features side handles, a beautifully fitted lid, and the most charming detail: a hand-crafted rose as the lid finial, perfectly in keeping with the pattern's spirit. The warm off-white earthenware body carries the classic Desert Rose hand-painting throughout. Marked "Made in California" and dated 1966, original Gladding McBean / Interpace era. Oven safe; hand washing recommended.
Desert Rose was introduced in 1941 as Franciscan's second hand-painted embossed pattern and went on to become one of the most popular dinnerware designs in American history. We carry complete place settings, additional serving pieces, and the creamer & sugar and salt & pepper sets in this pattern while supplies last.
A must-have for a Desert Rose collector, a beautiful centerpiece for a spring or summer table, or a meaningful gift for someone who grew up with this pattern.
