Details: A very decorative serving dish with a figural shell / clamshell shape. It has a hinged lid, a beautiful frosted glass insert and a tiny opening for a spoon or spreader. These were originally sold to serve caviar, today they make a great salt cellars, butter pat dishes, trinket dishes or even for jewelry storage (thinking cute with pearls!). Pretty on it's own as an coastal accent piece. This one is unmarked so we're unable to tell you much beyond the description, due to its light weight, and high shine, we believe this one is stainless steel (durable and corrosion-resistant, no polishing needed). The scallop shell has been used in decor throughout time in furniture, architecture, art, servingware, advertisement, and home decor objects. Pretty Summer accent on a vanity or side table.
