The roses pattern — pink and white blooms with green and brown leaves against a warm beige ground — appears on other Lipper & Mann pieces, but this particular form with its sawtooth border, leaf-shaped handles, ornate foot, and gilded floral finial is one we've not seen replicated. The porcelain itself carries a subtle embossed texture beneath the paintwork.
Use it to hold jewelry on a vanity, display it on a shelf where the detail can be appreciated, or gift it to someone who collects with intention.
Imported from Japan between 1949 and 1962 (original foil sticker intact: “Lipper & Mann Creations, Japan”), this is a genuinely rare find in this shape. Lipper & Mann, a New York City importer founded in 1946, was known for bringing finely crafted Japanese ceramics to American department stores and gift shops throughout the mid-century.
