This swizzle stick features a fully dimensional horseshoe and horse racing figure, sculpted all the way around rather than flat on the back, in a slick black finish — a nod to the hotel's Daily Double bar promotion, a rotating drink special designed to draw gamblers and tourists to the property during horse racing season.

The Broadwater Beach Hotel was built in 1938 by Pete Martin Sr., a well-known gambler and rum runner, in a striking Art Deco style with a half-circular driveway, a signature concrete canopy, and rows of palm trees. Though glamorous for its day, it remained a modest property until 1958, when it passed to Mrs. Joe W. Brown following her husband's death, and she transformed it into a premier beach resort with fully updated mid-century interiors and a new marina. The hotel weathered damage from Hurricane Camille in 1969 and continued operating until 1992, when it was acquired by John E. Connelly and the President Casino Corporation and reborn as the President Casino Broadwater Resort.
