Eight little chicks, eight soft pages — and the kind of book that was never meant to survive sixty years this beautifully.
Peggy Cloth Books were among the earliest washable fabric books made for babies in America, and Charlotte Steiner — who illustrated many of the early titles — brought an irresistible warmth to each one. This 1965 copy is in remarkable condition: colors still vivid, fabric crisp, pinked edges with only the most minor fraying. A small printing mark on the front cover (photographed) is the only imperfection.
A genuine rarity for vintage toy and book collectors, or a wonderfully unusual gift for a new baby arriving into a home that loves old things.
