A 1934 Saalfield "Mother Goose," its pages soft to the touch — the entire book printed on linen rather than paper — and illustrated throughout by one of mid-century America's most beloved children's artists.

  • Condition: Good vintage condition— cover wear consistent with age and use: minor border tears on the front cover, and a slightly bent corner. Inside, the center page has separated from the staples, with some fold marks and border tears; the illustrations themselves remain bright and vivid throughout. Several of the interior illustrations fill the entire page in full color, bright enough and complete enough to be worthy of framing on their own, and every illustrated page carries Bisel Peat's own signature. Alongside the familiar Saalfield markings, this copy also carries the number 171 — likely an internal print or edition number whose exact meaning has been lost to time, but a nice detail for the collector who likes tracing a book's history.
