Fire King's Blue Cornflower is one of those patterns with a story: when Corning released their own Cornflower Blue, the similarity caused enough confusion that collectors started naming this one specifically. A later version with fuller petals became Blue Cornflower 2 — making this the original. Fire King introduced its Ovenware line in 1942 and continued production until 1976. Made in Lancaster, Ohio, embossed #435, in the silky smooth milk glass that made Fire King a household name.
