This pair of Nachtmann Bleikristal candlesticks — 24% lead crystal, made in West Germany in the 1970s — features an intricate cut pattern: diamond and petal-like cuts on the bobeche, oval cuts around the rim, a large starburst on the foot, and square-cut sides on the stem. When candlelight moves through them, the room catches fire in a quiet, elegant way. Nachtmann, founded in 1834 and eventually acquired by Riedel, produced some of the finest lead crystal in the world. A pair like this doesn't come along often in this condition.
