This tall pair of Lenox Czech crystal candlesticks features vertical lines and star-like cuts that send light scattering across a room in the most beautiful way. At 9 inches tall, they have real presence. The shape is elegant and sculptural, somewhere between Art Deco and modern geometric, and the quality of the Czech crystal gives them a weight and clarity that rewards looking closely. The pattern has been discontinued.
Founded in 1889 by Walter Scott Lenox as the Ceramic Art Company in Trenton, NJ, Lenox grew into America's most prestigious maker of tableware and décor. In 1918, it made history as the first US china company to produce an official state service for the White House. Lenox further transformed American culture in the 1950s by pioneering the modern bridal registry. By 2020, it stood as the last significant manufacturer of bone china in the United States. However, pandemic pressures forced the closure of its final American factory in Kinston, NC, on April 17, 2020, followed by its retail stores that July. Today, Lenox continues operating under private equity firm Centre Lane Partners, with all production shifted overseas.
