There is a chip on the bottom edge of this piece. It is not very noticeable from the top, and because this candle holder is so beautiful, we knew someone would still love to display it and understand that there is something quietly commanding about a piece that has been in continuous production since 1774, even if slightly flawed. This Wedgwood Blue Jasperware candle holder, dated 1977 and made in England, still carries that history effortlessly.
Neoclassical Greek mythology white cameo relief oak leaves and acorns parade around the entire border with a ribbed pattern radiating from the center. Stamped on the back: "Wedgwood, Made in England 1978." The powdery blue is the most coveted of all Jasperware colorways.  At 2.0 inches tall, it's a versatile size — lovely as a shelf accent, dinner table or mantel, and distinctive enough to stand alone, or grouped in small galleries with other Jasperware pieces.
