At nearly 6 inches tall and 5 inches across, this Gurley pumpkin is one of the largest we've seen — and one of the most cheerfully Halloween things in existence.
Made in Buffalo, New York by the Gurley Novelty Company, which produced figural holiday candles from 1939 until it closed in 1994, this Jack-o'-Lantern has never been lit and retains its original Gurley cardboard label on the bottom. Gurley candles are mid-century American collectibles that serious Halloween collectors seek out, and at this size — nearly twice the scale of most Gurley pieces — this pumpkin commands a mantel, a shelf, or a display with real presence. It's slightly flatter on one side and the wick is very flat, both consistent with age and storage. Should not be burned to maintain collectible value.
