Gurley Novelty Company got its start in Buffalo, New York, when Franklin Gurley took over a candle operation originally built to repurpose leftover paraffin from oil refining. By 1949 the company bore his name, and its figural holiday candles — angels, carolers, Santas, and more — have become genuinely collectible. This one has never been lit, over 70 years since it was made, and is confirmed genuine though it's missing its original label.
