This 1972 Kay Dee calendar tea towel, made in Hope Valley, Rhode Island, is printed with a red barn in a winter landscape — classic farmhouse Americana.

Underneath the calendar is printed "Dakin Farm, Ferrisburgh Vermont" — likely a promotional item sold at, or given away to, customers during the holidays. There are no signs of laundering; it looks as though it's only been used as decor, with colors still very bright. An opening at the top accommodates a dowel or string for display. Kay Dee was established in 1951 as a hand-printer of linen towels and calendar towels and continues to operate out of rural Hope Valley, Rhode Island today. Dakin Farm was founded by Sam Cutting III in Ferrisburg, Vermont in 1960, originally selling only maple syrup under the name "Dakin Farm Maple Market" — still thriving today with a much-expanded product line.
