Colorful birds perched on pine branches, cattails, and a wooden birdhouse — illustrated with the kind of warm naturalist precision that makes you stop and look. Below, the 1971 calendar.
This is a Kay Dee hand-printed linen calendar towel from Hope Valley, Rhode Island — a company founded in 1951 that is still printing kitchen linens today, a rare continuity in American textile history. The illustration is signed Richard Batchelder in the lower right corner, identifying the artist. The towel appears unused — colors remain vivid — though there is slight fading on the May/June calendar letters at the fold line, likely from long storage. An opening at the top accommodates a display dowel (not included). Machine washable; softens beautifully with each wash.
A wonderful find for a vintage linen collector, a bird lover, or anyone who wants a piece of mid-century American kitchen art on their wall.
