Whitehall is one of those patterns that collectors argue about with genuine affection. Introduced by Indiana Glass under the Colony brand in the 1960s, it features the same distinctive cubist all-over geometry that also appears in Fostoria's American and Jeannette's Cube patterns — each distinct to the trained eye, occasionally baffling to everyone else. This three-toed footed cake plate sits on three elegant feet and spreads to 12 inches across: enough room for a proper layer cake, a generous fruit display, or a beautiful cheese board. Whether this is the original 1960s Whitehall or the 1980s American Whitehall reissue is something we leave to the collector to determine — the look and quality are the same either way.

A handsome piece of American pressed glass history, equally at home at a formal table or a farmhouse kitchen.
