Two inches of Staffordshire history, in a blue so deep it's nearly black.
T G & F Booth operated in Stoke-on-Trent, England between 1883 and 1891 — a narrow window that makes any piece from their catalog a genuine rarity. These square butter pats are in their Rosaline pattern, marked "Parisian Granite," the trade name Booth used for their ironstone wares. The blue is extraordinary: an unusually deep, saturated indigo. One pat shows considerably more wear than the other, with a noticeably lighter pattern — both are photographed and sold as a set.
As at home on a collector's shelf as on a table — equally charming as ring dishes, small soap dishes, or as intended, for butter. A rare find for English ironstone or Staffordshire collectors.
