The Blue Onion pattern traces its origins to ancient China, but once European manufacturers adopted it in the 18th century it became one of the most beloved blue-and-white patterns in the world. Hutschenreuther began producing their own version in 1930, and these butter pats carry a backstamp dating them to 1969.
