A fun figural frog brooch from KUO (1987–2008). It looks like an informal nod to the Jackie Kennedy frog brooch; of course this one is not even close to that fine piece of jewelry, but it is the same shape and style, very well made, and just as much fun to wear. It is marked on the back "KUO" in capital letters on an oval base. We know KUO's designs (Robert Kuo, not David Kuo) from the 1980s included nature inspired figural pins and brooches of gold and silver tone with rhinestones, which is how we arrived at a circa 1980s date.

If you like frogs, this one is not to be missed. It will add a touch of whimsy and charm to any outfit, scarf, or purse, however you want to style it.

KUO costume jewelry was started by Robert Kuo, an immigrant from Beijing who learned the craft of jewelry and enameling at the age of 15 from his father. He came to the USA in 1973 and started his first company, KLOISON K, in 1976, making cloisonné household wares and accessories. In 1984 he founded Robert Kuo, Ltd., for the production of lamps, decorative furniture, and jewelry. His brand, KUO, was registered in 1987 for the production of jewelry, and was active until 2008.
