Sarah Coventry introduced the Ocean Star set in 1968 as part of their ocean-themed collection — and it is exactly what a piece designed for summer should be: unhurried, warm, and quietly beautiful. The starfish brooch is worked in an intricate gold-tone rope and openwork design scattered with faux turquoise and pearl beads; the dangle clip earrings mirror the same materials and texture in a longer, more fluid form. Signed "Sarah Cov." Rollover safety clasp on the brooch.
Sarah Coventry was founded in 1949 by Charles H. Stuart, sold through at-home parties, and eventually became the world's oldest direct-selling jewelry company. Their heydays were the 1950s–1970s, and their pieces appeared on The Price is Right, Hollywood Squares, and at Miss Universe and Miss America pageants. Retired, highly collectible, and in pristine condition.
Beautiful for summer dressing, a beach holiday, or any occasion that calls for a little ocean energy. A wonderful gift for a Sarah Coventry collector, a turquoise lover, or anyone who marks the seasons through what they wear.
