This original Two Homers outer box label was produced for A. J. Golden of Bonneauville, Pennsylvania — the same company behind the celebrated Blue Ribbon brand. Two homing carrier pigeons appear on a brilliant yellow background, "Two Homers" in bold red, and across the bottom, the tagline "They Always Come Back." The homing pigeon was one of the most celebrated animals of the early 20th century — used in warfare, racing, and long-distance communication before the telegraph made them obsolete. By the 1930s they were nostalgic icons, and A. J. Golden knew exactly what they were doing naming a brand after them. A. J. Golden of Bonneauville, Pennsylvania produced the Two Homers brand from approximately 1910 through the 1930s, alongside their celebrated Blue Ribbon brand. They were the most successful business ever to operate in Bonneauville, PA, ceasing production in March 1943.
