From a Tampa kitchen in 1912 to one of the world's most acclaimed cigar names. This box is part of that story.
This is a vintage empty Arturo Fuente Spanish Lonsdales Imported Maduro wooden box — embossed and gilded labels inside and out, featuring the two-lions logo and the Cuban Shield, an homage to founder Arturo Fuente's homeland. Circa 1990s, made in the Dominican Republic. One available.
The exterior label carries the two-lions crest and Cuban Shield with all the formal elegance the Fuente brand has always brought to its packaging — open the box and the inner lid reveals the same imagery at a larger, more elaborate scale, deeply embossed and gilded. This box is dateable to the 1990s with confidence: from 2001 onward, Arturo Fuente added a humidifier pouch and a blue water droplet illustration to their packaging; the absence of both here places production firmly before that change.
Arturo Fuente began in 1912 when a young Cuban immigrant named Arturo Fuente started making handmade cigars in West Tampa, Florida, founding Fuente y Compania. More than a century later, his namesake brand is one of the most critically acclaimed in the world — still family-owned, still handmade, still carrying the Cuban Shield as a tribute to the country he left behind. This box represents that heritage in a form that can be held in your hands.
Today it serves beautifully as a keepsake box, a desk organizer, a playing card or small game storage container, or a bar catchall. A mark on the outer label where a sticker appears to have been removed; slight scuffing on gilded areas. Box is very clean inside and out.
A wonderful find for an Arturo Fuente collector, a Cuban-American heritage enthusiast, a tobacciana collector, or anyone who appreciates the craft and history behind one of the great cigar family dynasties.
