Rich forest green, warm gold, and the quiet authority of 22-karat decoration — this Ceraglass bowl is mid-century American glassware at its most confident. A wide green band wraps the bowl, filled with gilded grape clusters, trailing leaves, and dark green tendrils, bordered above and below by slender gold lines. The pattern repeats continuously around the glass, making it as beautiful from a distance as it is up close.
Ceraglass was founded in Hackensack, NJ in 1940 by Anthony Velonis, a painter and silkscreen innovator whose work eventually graced the shelves of Tiffany's and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Their pieces were sold in high-end department stores, and the quality shows. By 1970 the company had merged into VCA of Bridgeport, CT — making original Ceraglass pieces genuinely collectible finds.
A stunning centerpiece filled with fruit, a dramatic addition to a fall or harvest table, or a gift for someone who collects mid-century American glass.
