A lovely single bowl for a collector building out the Lyric pattern, or a romantic addition to a mixed vintage table.
Limoges USA's Lyric pattern is a study in American ambition — a wide 22-karat gold filigree border of scrolls and flowers, pink roses and blue and yellow blooms at the center, a deep blue floral medallion surrounding the whole arrangement, and a scalloped edge that continues on the inside of the bowl. Backstamped "Made in USA Limoges Lyric 1K-S 384-X Warranted 22K Gold." Limoges USA began in Sebring, Ohio in 1900 — not to be confused with the French Limoges — producing American semi-porcelain until filing for bankruptcy in 1955. Pieces from the 1930s and '40s are increasingly sought after.
